A setback we couldn’t plan for.
Our lorry was stolen, leaving us with heavy debt. We had to learn how to manage cash flow and keep the business moving.

THE RUNNINGMEN STORY · SINCE FEBRUARY 2014
First, we ran to your doorstep.
Now, we run towards your biggest moments.
A small delivery project. A rainy night. A feeling we never stopped chasing.

FEBRUARY 2014 · SETAPAK
Joel and Andrew were college friends with a simple idea: bring food from nearby hawker stalls to hungry students around TARC, now TARUMT.
With RM200 to get started, meals were ordered by phone and social media. Then came the part that gave us our name.
We ran.
Across the neighbourhood. To the hostels. Up the stairs when waiting for the lift took too long. One delivery, and one smile, at a time.
A small beginning.
A lot of heart.
A memory from early 2015 · illustratedEARLY 2015
It was a busy night. Orders were stacking up, the rain was pouring, and there weren’t enough hands to deliver them.
So the team went out. No umbrellas. Both hands carrying meals to the people waiting for them.
Some customers looked surprised. Some offered towels. And in those small moments of kindness, something stayed with us.
The food was the delivery.
The feeling was the reason.
Retold from our team’s account of that night.
RunningMen was incorporated as a company.
The journey had begun in February 2014. Now, we were making it official.
2017 — 2023
Some years opened doors. Others asked us to find a new way through.
Our lorry was stolen, leaving us with heavy debt. We had to learn how to manage cash flow and keep the business moving.
Accenture became our first corporate client in 2018. In 2019, we expanded into catering, discovering what it meant to serve a whole occasion.
The pandemic brought sales to zero. We adapted with food and grocery delivery, then found new ways to bring people together through virtual events.
Different ways of working. The same desire to deliver a little happiness.
Physical celebrations returned. In 2023, we launched our first event space, 1301 by RMC—another way to help people make a moment their own.
THE SAME FEELING. A BIGGER TABLE.
What we do has grown. What makes it worthwhile hasn’t. Good food, thoughtful care, and the joy of sharing a moment.

It started with food for someone waiting at home.
Then came the joy of serving a whole gathering.
Today, we share that feeling with a whole room.
The same care, through every chapter. Illustrated with a little imagination.

FROM OUR WOW STORIES
Our WOW Mission gives a name to something we’ve cared about from the start: going a little further to make someone’s day.

Sometimes care is as simple as helping a guest peel their prawns. Our team’s stories remind us that hospitality lives in the small things, too.

Keeping children entertained is one of the ways our team has gone beyond serving food. A happy little guest can make the day brighter for everyone around them.

Our WOW stories include buying cakes to surprise clients. A thoughtful gesture can become the part of a celebration someone remembers long after the last plate is cleared.

RUNNING INTO THE FUTURE
A first birthday. A wedding. A team’s hard-earned milestone. Then a new generation, with stories of their own.
Our ambition for RunningMen Celebrations is to be the name you think of for those moments. Through catering, welcoming spaces, and the celebration experiences we’re still dreaming up.
We’re still running.
And you’re why.
